Meet Our Staff

Jim Kirk, our pastor, was born and raised in the Pittsburgh area.  He was ordained as a Minister of Word and Sacrament in the Pittsburgh Presbytery on October 5, 2008.  Having served at Ken Mawr Church, in McKees Rocks, for five years as both a Student pastor and as an Associate pastor, Pastor Jim is now very excited and thankful for his calling to serve at Valencia Presbyterian Church.  He currently resides with his wife, Kathy, in the church manse here in Valencia, PA.

Pastor Jim graduated in May, 2008 from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary.  Prior to that, he had a 26-year career in medical laboratory sales.  Several years ago, Jim began to feel the Lord leading him to pastoral ministry.  After much prayer and discernment of what the Lord wanted for him and his family, he felt he was to leave his job and pursue a call to full-time ministry.

Here at Valencia Presbyterian Church, Jim leads Bible studies, Adult Sunday School and our worship services.  Pastor Jim is active in visitation and in encouraging the congregation in discipleship.  Serving the people and families of Valencia Church is allowing our pastor to grow along with the congregation and further discern God's calling for all of us.
